VWSD releases plan to return to in-person learning

The Vicksburg Warren School District released a document that provides an overview of its plans to return students and faculty to an in-person environment for the 2021 – 2022 school year.

Classes are set to resume on August 6 and regular scheduling is to take place.

The district plans to follow CDC recommendations as well as recommendations by the Mississippi Department of Health, as well as educate students on self care. Desks, counters and table surfaces will be cleaned during transition times where feasible.

Among some changes, specific measures have been taken to address conditions such as air quality throughout the classrooms.  UV lighting will be installed in many of the HVAC systems, along with air purification systems within the new construction facilities.

Chromebooks will be supplied to students while at school with some having the opportunity to take them home for the day. They are expected to be returned daily, fully charged.

There is plenty of information for parents and students to be made aware of, and we encourage all to be aware of all the details by viewing the VWSD document here.
