VPD reports grand larceny, shots fired and auto burglary

The Vicksburg Police Department reports that the following incidents occurred from Saturday, Oct. 31, through Monday, Nov. 2.

Saturday at 11:06 a.m. officers responded to the Anchuca Bed and Breakfast, 1010 First East St., in reference to a grand larceny. The victim stated her roommate stole $9,000 in cash and $70,000 in jewelry that she had inherited.

Sunday at 12:20 a.m. officers responded to New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive in reference to shots fired into occupied dwellings. Two separate victims reported that shots had been fired into their apartments.

Monday at 9:28 a.m. officers responded to a residence on Williams Street in reference to shots fired into an unoccupied vehicle. The victim stated she had heard gunshots and then noticed that her Nissan Frontier had a bullet lodged in the passenger side door.

Monday at 7:19 p.m. officers responded to an address in the 1900 block of Sky Farm Avenue in reference to an auto burglary. The victim stated that someone stole her purse which contained $250 cash, two Social Security cards, a Mutual debit card and a 9-mm handgun from the front passenger seat of her 2016 Nissan Altima. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
