VPD Crime Report

This was sent to us by Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department at 9:23 am.

“March 21, 2011 at 8:00 am VPD arrested Dexter Yates, age 43, of 712 Speed Street for Third Offense Domestic Violence after charges were upgrade in Municipal Court while Yates was appearing on a second offense domestic and a records check showed two previous domestic violence convictions.

“At 8:02 am VPD arrested Mitchell Lewis, age 25, of 3066 Lewis Road Port Gibson, Ms., at 103 Elizabeth Circle for Sale of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute after an undercover narcotics investigation after numerous complaints of drug activity in the Elizabeth Circle area. Police recovered additional marijuana and a 9 mm handgun during the arrest.

“At 2:01 pm took a report of a residential burglary in the 700 block of Central Ave.; reported stolen was a 32” Sony TV.

“At 10:52 pm took a report of a residential burglary in the 2600 block of Pearl Street; reported stolen was assorted jewelry.”
