  • At 8:11 am VPD arrested Patrick Grandberry age 46 of 920 Buck Street after police conducted a search warrant at his residence after numerous drug complaints. Police recovered approximately 1/4 lb of marijuana valued at approximately $400.00 and 2 grams of cocaine valued at $300.00.  Grandberry was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and bond was set at $20,000.00.
  • At 12: 15 pm VPD, MBN & WCSO arrested Leonard Lewis age 33 of 408 Groome Street after police conducted a search warrant at his residence after numerous drug complaints. Police recovered approximately 1 lb of marijuana valued at approximately $ 2,000.00. Lewis was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
  • After conducting a Drug Interdiction Detail on I 20 VPD, MBN & WCSO arrested the following people:
  • At 1:30 pm  Thomas Adcock age 33 of 102 Ridgelawn Drive was arrested following a traffic stop on I 20 E @ Halls Ferry for careless driving. After receiving consent to search, police found an active shake & bake meth lab inside the truck along with a small amount of meth and marijuana. Adcock was charged with Manufacturing Meth, Possession of Meth & Marijuana.
  • At 3:30 pm Dennis Richie age 36 of 1003 Mott Headly Road, Port Gibson, Ms was arrested following a traffic stop on Hwy 61 S @ Iowa Blvd for Improper lane Change after police received consent to search police located 2 or more precursors used in manufacturing meth. Richie was charged with Possession of 2 or more Precursors.
VPD took the following burglary reports:
  • At 12:51 pm an auto burglary was reported at 2150 Iowa Blvd.  of a 1993 Subaru in which a AM/FM/CD stereo and a thumb drive were reported stolen.
  • At 1:17 pm a residential burglary in the 1700 block of Martha Street  in which a  42″ Vizio TV & an XBOX 360 were reported stolen.

VPD reports auto theft and business burglary for Tuesday

The Vicksburg Police Department reports an auto theft and a business burglary occurred Tuesday, Oct. 13.

At 5:34 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Washington Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported that someone stole a 2015 Chrysler 200.

The Days Inn at 90 Warrenton Road was the site of a business burglary Tuesday. Officers responded to the motel at 9:09 a.m. where the victims stated that someone kicked a room door in and stole a Dewalt paint sprayer, two Magnavox paint sprayers, a Minolta hand sander and a Milwaukee reciprocating saw. Two other saws of unknown brands were also taken. The total value of the missing equipment is estimated at $5,500.

Vicksburg police make a drug bust after brief pursuit

Vicksburg police officers arrested a man Tuesday on drug charges after a brief pursuit.

James Morris, 30, of Vicksburg was arrested shortly after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, on U.S. Highway 80 just outside the city limits. The officers found that Morris was in possession of crack cocaine.

Charged with one count of possession of cocaine, Morris appeared Tuesday before Judge Angela Carpenter in the Vicksburg Municipal Court for his arraignment. Carpenter bound him over to the Warren County grand jury on a $30,000 bond.

Williams arrested for two separate burglaries at the Vicksburg Mall

Vicksburg police arrested Felix Williams, 30, of Vicksburg, for two separate burglaries at the Vicksburg Mall.

For a break-in Sunday, Oct. 11, into the mall and Jordan’s, Williams was charged with two counts of business burglary. Williams was also charged with two counts of business burglary and one count of grand larceny for the Oct. 2 burglary at the Sports Addition.

Monday, Oct. 12, Judge Angela Carpenter in the Vicksburg Municipal Court set Williams bond at $400,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.
