Vicksburg Warren School District reports one new COVID-19 case and 30 quarantined

For the week of Sept. 21 through Sept. 25, 2020, the Vicksburg Warren School District reported one new confirmed positive case of COVID-19 for a student at Vicksburg High School.

Four teachers and staff members and 25 students at VHS are quarantined.

One teacher/staff member at Beechwood Elementary school is quarantined due to possible exposure to COVID-19.

According to data from the Mississippi State Department of Health, the district reported one new COVID-19 case among teachers and staff members for the week of Sept. 14 to Sept. 18 and one student quarantined.

This brings the totals of COVID-19 cases since school reopened Aug. 17 to five among teachers and staff members and two among students. Eight teachers and 26 students have been quarantined.

Statewide for the week ending Sept. 18, 829 teachers and staff members and 1,571 students tested positive for the virus since the start of school. The cumulative number quarantined includes 425 teachers and staff and 4,394 students.
