“Today is a great day. We are fortunate to be donating vehicles,” beamed Chief Milton Moore as he stood between Pickens Police Chief Joe Davis and former Vicksburg Police officer Russell Dorsey, Chief of the Port Gibson Police Department.

Chief Davis is getting a patrol car and noted how thankful he was because his small department noting “…we went the whole winter without heat being in our vehicle. It’s really going to be a blessing to our department.” Smaller cities like Pickens don’t have the budget to keep new patrol units and count on larger departments to help them maintain a law enforcement presence.

“Relationships matter. I would like to thank Chief Moore, when I contacted him he got right on it. Today is a very great day for the City of Port Gibson,” asserted Chief Dorsey. Port Gibson is receiving a prisoner transport van and a patrol unit.
