Vicksburg police arrest Easter; investigate burglary and credit card fraud

Vicksburg Police Officers arrested Derrick DeWayne Easter, 25, on Aug. 15 at 210 Ironwood Drive. Police had warrants on Easter for aggravated assault and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle. 

Easter went before Municipal Court Judge Angela Carpenter today, Aug.16, and she set his bond at $275,000.

The following incidents area being investigated by the Vicksburg Police Department:

Thursday at 9:32 p.m., VPD officers responded to a residential burglary on the 400 block of Mission 66. The victim’s son-in-law reportedly entered his daughter’s bedroom window and took a 9 millimeter Forest handgun.

Credit card fraud was reported to the VPD Aug. 15 at 3:43 p.m. The victim came into the department and reported that an unauthorized purchase of $616.17 was made.
