Vicksburg PD updates info on carjacking incident

Police have released additional information on the carjacking incident that occurred on Wednesday, March 4, at 5:25 a.m.

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department were dispatched to the Dairy Queen at 30 Orme Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle, the department said in a statement.

The victim said that a black male and a black female approached him asking for directions. After he gave the directions, the male pulled a handgun and demanded the keys to the victim’s 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The male then took the truck and the female followed him in a separate vehicle.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol recovered the stolen truck a short time later near Bolton, Miss., on Interstate 20 East.

No arrests have been made at this time.
