Vicksburg native and indoor track runner Mason Quimby led his team to a Gulf South Conference Indoor Track Championship on Wednesday.
Overall, Quimby came in second place after completing a high jump of 1.85 metric which was very impressive.
“I almost cleared 1.90m, which is around 6 feet and 3 inches, but my leg got caught on the way down,” Quimby said. “That would’ve given me first place, but the good news is that Mississippi College’s track and field team won first place overall,”
Quimby and the Choctaws worked hard to bring home the championship this season and now they have a great reason to celebrate.
Quimby is also a member of MC’s football team and is a 2018 graduate of Warren Central High School.
