Vicksburg native Alvin Stimage, Jr. has released his first children’s book, AJ’s ABC.

Stimage is a 2019 graduate of Mississippi State University and began writing his book back in September after having an inspiration to help children. Stimage completed his book in early December.

“I know the children are the future and they need to be educated, but due to the pandemic their has been a lot of distant learning so I wanted to make a way for children to learn the beginning sounds of the alphabet,” Stimage said.

In AJ’s ABC, Stimage uses variety of characters from different ethic groups to help with diversity so the book could connect to all races.

The book is for younger kids and strives to improve their reading ability. Something Stimage views as a necessity for young children and is able to educate children in a fun and memorable way.

Stimage has plans to release more books in the future.
