Vicksburg hosts regional cornhole tournament at the Vicksburg Convention Center
Vicksburg is host to a regional cornhole tournament which is being held at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
The two-day event has brought in 150+ players from throughout the neighboring states.
Cornhole is a game where players toss a bean bag to an inclined platform, aiming to have the beanbag fall through the hole in the platform. The sport has quickly gained momentum in popularity.
“It’s Huge (cornhole),” stated coordinator Jeff Richburg. “It’s just growing leaps and bounds.”
While the game is played on a one-on-one fashion, the players have come together to bring a team feel to the game. “There’s a team aspect to it as well as being an individual player,” stated Richburg
The regional tournament is free for anyone that wishes to visit and see what the sport is about.
“Anybody can come down here, and if they want to throw a bag, we’ll probably make it happen,” said Richburg.
