Vicksburg Attorney David Sessums succumbs to COVID-19

Vicksburg attorney and businessman David Sessums has passed away due to complications from Covid.

Sessums passed the Mississippi Bar in 1979 after attending the University of Southern Mississippi and graduating with honors. He went on to the Mississippi College School of law and graduated with special distinction in 1978. He also clerked for Chief Justice of Mississippi Supreme Court, Justice Roy Noble Lee.

He was a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, a past member of the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions, President of the Warren County Bar Association in 2002-2003 and served as the City of Vicksburg Prosecuting Attorney from 1990-1993.

Sessums practiced law in Vicksburg with Mac Varner, Gene Parker, Cliff Whitney and Penny Lawson at the firm of Varner, Parker and Sessums.

David leaves behind a loving wife, Suzanne, children and grandchildren.

Visitation for David M. Sessums will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, from noon to 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services to follow in the Glenwood Chapel beginning at 2 p.m.
