The Vicksburg High School ninth grade boys basketball team is aiming for a Little Six championship with the way they have been playing this year.
The Gators are undefeated with an 11-0 record under head coach Julius Williams who has led the team to a terrific record this year.
The young team is built with multiple talented players, including Tyler Henderson, Keelan Bass, and Davion Williams who have all put up impressive numbers this season. They have blown out most of their challengers just as they did last year in their 18-1 eighth grade season.
Since moving to the ninth grade, the young athletes have become much quicker and stronger young men who are hungry for the Little Six title. The championship games will be played after the regular season ends in mid-January. The Little Six games consist of three preliminary rounds and a final championship game.
Right now, the team is on holiday break, but many supporters of the ninth graders are eager to see them return to the court next week to watch them do what they do best — win basketball games.
The Gators face Madison Central Thursday, Jan. 7, and Brandon the following week in their final two regular season games.
