Vicksburg High School football and basketball cheerleading coaches have released the names of 2020-2021 school year captains for their athletics teams.

The names were announced last week with a banner of all five ladies shown standing side by side in their cheer outfits.

The new captains of the basketball cheer squad are Janiyah Anderson, Janiah Burnett and co-captain Jannifer Banks. These ladies will be cheering on the basketball team later on this year after football season ends, and they have all worked hard over the past few years to be given the captain title by their coaches.

The new football cheerleading squad captains are Claudia McGowan, Toni Taylor and co-captain Jannifer Banks. McGowan, Banks and Taylor will be cheering on the football team in a couple of weeks when the season gets started Sept 4.

All of the new captains will have big responsibilities this season as their coaches will expect them to lead by example during their upcoming season.
