Vehicle fire in Warren County Saturday morning – VIDEO

A Warren County man lost his vehicle to a fire that was believed to have been electrical in nature, related to the car’s radio.

Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, Warren County Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire threatening a structure on Clubhouse Circle off of Newitt Vick Drive.

Culkin Engine 204 responded along with Engine 209 for water support.

Firefighters from Culkin and Bovina quickly extinguished the fire in the automobile without damage to the adjacent apartment structures.

The Dodge Challenger automobile was a total loss. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Wards Wrecker Service.

Neighbors help save home from dryer fire

A fire originating in a laundry dryer threatened a home in Warren County on Shannon Lane just off Warriors Trail Friday morning.

Alert neighbors pulled the door off the house and began moving the dryer out before firefighters arrived.

When Bovina firefighters responded, they were able to pull the dryer out to the lawn and extinguish the fire with an extinguisher.

It’s a reminder to everyone to clean the lint traps in home dryers on a regular basis. Not only will it help dry clothing more efficiently, but cleaning will also prevent fires.

House fire on Sherwood Drive in Vicksburg

Vicksburg firefighters responded to a house fire at 126 Sherwood Drive off of Porter’s Chapel Road just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

The fire originated in the kitchen area and caused heavy smoke. No one was home at the time of the fire and there are no injuries.

“Fast response from firefighters on Engine 2 and Engine 8 saved the home from having extensive damage,” said Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk. They remain on the scene removing smoke and heat from the home.

Apartment fire at the Park at Milestone

Vicksburg firefighters responded to a structure fire at The Park at Milestone at 6332 Common Circle at 11:26 a.m. Friday.

A resident reported smoke coming from below their unit.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Ladder 15, Engines 7 and 8, Rescue and Fire Medic 30, along with Battalion 1, responded.
