Investigators have made three arrests in connection with the body discovered in the truck of a car in Copiah County last week.

Joshua Hankins, 21, Kelly King, 21, and Jordan Thompson, 24, have each been taken into custody after investigators determined that the claims of a “free car” sign posted on the vehicle in which the body of Anthony McCrillis was found were false.

Hankins has been charged with auto theft, possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence. King has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, conspiracy to commit a crime, and hindering prosecution/rendering criminal assistance. Thompson has been charged with auto theft and tampering with physical evidence.

Byram police, with help from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, are still investigating this case. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to detectives at 601-372-7747 or call CrimeStoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
