Teen gunned down hours after graduating

Kennedy Hobbs, a recent graduate of Murrah High School was gunned down in Jackson at a Texaco station on Medgar Evers Blvd., hours after her high school graduation on Tuesday.

According to a report by the New York Post, this act comes amid a crime spike in the area.

As of this time, no motives have been released nor the names of any suspects surrounding the incident.

“To get the news this morning of the passing of one of our dear graduates, it’s tough,” Superintendent Errick Greene told reporters.

The family and members of the community have called on leadership to help address the gun violence issue.

Hobbs was 18-years-old.
