Suspect charged in Yazoo County murder is also suspected of killing his accomplice
Yazoo County authorities have a suspect in custody for the murder of Phillip Dunn.
Tommy White Jr., 38, has been charged with Dunn’s murder, reports the Yazoo Herald. White is also suspected of killing his accomplice.
A fisherman found Dunn’s body in the Big Black River entangled in tree limbs on March 29, near Highway 16 in Yazoo County. He appears to have been shot multiple times, according to Yazoo County Sheriff Jake Sheriff.
Dunn, 36, had been missing since Feb. 11 when his abandoned car was found on Highway 49 in Yazoo County, Sheriff’s Investigator Terry Gann told WAPT. Blood was found in the car, Gann said.
White is also a suspect in the death of Marcus Journigan, 36, whose body was found in Jackson on Feb. 13, also shot several times. Journigan was a suspected accomplice in Dunn’s murder.
Yazoo County had issued warrants for both White and Journigan in Dunn’s disappearance when Journigan’s body was found in Jackson.
