VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – The man who was charged with assaulting a woman in a restroom at a Gulfport shopping center two weeks ago, Andrew Malik Jones, has racked up additional assault charges since his arrest for attacking inmates.
Sheriff Troy Peterson told WLOX that Jones was originally placed in general population at the Harrison County jail, but after assaulting another inmate he was moved to isolation.
On July 20, Jones was arrested and charged with robbery and sexual battery. Jones allegedly waited in a restroom at Gulfport Premium Outlets, then attacked an Oklahoma woman by pushing her into a stall, assaulting and raping her before trying to flee with her purse.
