The River City Rescue Mission will reopen its doors Tuesday morning, June 2.
The mission shut down two weeks ago as a precautionary measure.
“We have cleaned and sanitized the mission from the top to the bottom,” said Executive Director Earnie Hall. “We have had everyone here tested and no one had the virus.”
In an previous conversation with the Vicksburg Daily News, Hall indicated he believed rumors about the Mission spread because someone who tested positive had used the Mission’s address.
“Some of our former residents will use this address for their mail,” Hall said, “but no one here had it, and we had stopped any new people from staying here”
“We shut down as a precautionary to ensure the public we love and serve was not put at risk”
