Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a news conference Thursday that he expects Mississippi casinos to re-open by Memorial Day.

The governor said he has been in contact with casino operators, and that there will be restrictions in how casinos operate, including social distancing and hygiene guidelines.

Gamers and employees may be required to wear masks, for example, and every other slot machine could be disabled.

Casino operators say they will need to have a decision about two weeks prior to re-opening to ensure everything is in place and ready for customers.
