TMZ Sports confirmed LeBron James tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, causing him to miss Tuesday’s L.A. Lakers vs Sacramento Kings game.
James was given a lateral flow test which came up positive. A followup test returned a negative result. A third, tie-breaking test returned a positive.
Currently, James is asymptomatic but will spend at least 10 days away from the Lakers until he can return two negative PCR tests, per the league’s rules.
James is reported to be fully vaccinated and is among 34 known breakthrough cases among players, staffers and coaches.
