Police charge Vicksburg man with multiple felonies including drug possession

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department’s Narcotics/NET Team arrested a man Wednesday on multiple charges including drug possession.

On Aug. 5, officers served a search warrant at the Deluxe lnn Motel, 2751 North Frontage Road, following reports of drug activity.

Officers recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, and a Beretta 9mm handgun from the room. They arrested Thomas Jones, 32, of Vicksburg, charging him with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon by a felon.

They also seized $3,998 in cash as suspected proceeds of drug activity.

Jones appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Thursday, Aug. 6, where she set his bond at $50,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.
