(pictured on the left of the featured image), who’s powerful voice and pitch-perfect delivery of “On My Own” from the Broadway musical Les Miserable impressed the judges and allowed her to take home a bouquet of roses and $200 in scholarship money.   Myers, who lives in Laurel, attends Northeast Jones Middle School.  She currently wears the crown of Miss Delta Blues’ Outstanding Teen, which she won on November 7, 2010.  She may only be 14 years old but she is considered a “veteran” at the Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Pageant having served last year as the little sister to Miss Northridge. There are 24 “Outstanding Teens” competing for the chance to represent our state at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition, which will be held in Orlando, Florida in August.  The second and final night of preliminaries begins at 8 pm tonight (Friday, June 3, 2010) and tickets are currently available by contacting the Miss Mississippi Corporation office at 601-638-6746. The pageant is an amazing experience any time you witness it.  This year is no exception.  The pageant’s design is fantastic and it features some terrific musical performances from the cast, including Miss Mississippi 2009 Anna Tadlock, Ted Laney, Chance Ragsdale (who delivers an awesome acoustic performance of Prince’s “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”) and Katie Bostick. Miss Mississippi 2010 Sarah Beth James is serving as the emcee of this year’s MMOT Pageant and has threatened (jokingly, of course) to derail the upcoming Miss Mississippi Pageant by crowning herself to serve another year 🙂 . The reigning Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen, Christina Bostick, dances her way across the stage with grace, poise, beauty and style as she prepares to pass her crown to her successor and return to life in her hometown of Hattiesburg and Oak Grove High School (which, I must admit, is my favorite school that I ever attended – GO WARRIORS!!!).
