The Warren County Ravens football teams, both 8U and 12U, traveled to Starkville last weekend to play in championship games.

Coaches Vance Gray and Decorey Knight Sr. hold the championship trophy.

The undefeated 8U Ravens, led by head coach Decorey Knight Sr., faced off against the Yazoo City Wildcats on Saturday, Nov. 9, resulting in a 31-6 Raven win. Running back Jordan Taylor led the Ravens with four touchdowns after filling in for Cameron Zellous who scored a touchdown but was injured in the first quarter. Taylor received the MVP award for his performance in the championship and leading the Ravens to a 12-0 season.

The 12U Ravens, who played great all season, came up short in their championship game against the Starkville Cowboys. The injury of starting quarterback Decorey Knight Jr. played a key role in the season-ending game. Wide receiver Miner Minor stepped in as quarterback after Knight’s injury, but the Ravens fell short losing 27-6. The 12U Ravens had a great season with a 10-2 record with only one loss before last weekend.
