Vicksburg High School softball team played a good game on Tuesday but eventually came up short of a win against Clinton in a 9-6 loss.
Makyia Adams singled on a 1-1 count that resulted in two run scores, which helped VHS take an early lead in the game.
The Missy Gators had a nice 6-2 lead by the third inning, but things would soon change as the Arrows eventually got on track.
Lexie Kistler pitched for most of the game for VHS as she struck out three batters and allowed seven hits. Madelyn McAdam stepped in to pick late in the game and she also struck out one batter and had one run score.
Although the Gators didn’t come up with the win, they had plenty of players that contributed to their great strength of not giving up. Charlie VanNorman had two run scores and Jamie Ward, Sha’Niya Lockridge, McAdam, and Kistler all finished with one score.
The Missy Gators will play a makeup game against Pearl at home on Thursday with JV starting at 5:00 p.m.
