The cast of "Anne of Green Gables"

Tonight and tomorrow are your last chances to see a play filled with drama, love and twists.

The Vicksburg Theatre Guild presents “Anne of Green Gables” Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Parkside Playhouse, 101 Iowa Ave.

The production tells the story of the older Cuthbert siblings who want to adopt a young boy to help with the chores.

After believing that they’ve selected the perfect young male to add to their family, the Cuthberts are told the child they are taking in is a female, Anne. This leads to unexpected changes in their lives including a love story.

The play stars David Bell, Sarah Goss and Riley Smith.

The Vicksburg Theatre Guild invites folks of all ages to come and enjoy an evening or afternoon at the Parkside Playhouse.

“It’ll just be an enjoyable evening,” said Mike Calman, secretary of the guild’s board of directors.  “It’s not too dramatic of a story. The actors are great and they’ve been practicing for weeks.”

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+), and $8 for children ages 12 and under.

Those in attendance will be serenaded by music from the renaissance while enjoying a three-course dinner and wassail toast, made in hopes of good health to all that partake. The Mississippi Boy Choir will also perform.

This year the dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 21 through Saturday, Nov. 23 starting at 6:30 p.m. nightly at the  B.B. Club Vicksburg, 721 Clay St.

The show lasts for approximately two hours and tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table that seats eight.
