Mae Walton Youngblood, 1938-2019

Mae Walton Youngblood died Saturday, Nov, 16, 2019, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 81.

Mrs. Youngblood was born in Drew, Miss., to the late Walter S. Johnson and Viola Carrol Johnson. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1971 and was a computer specialist for Waterways Experiment Station, retiring in 1998.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her son, Dennis James Youngblood, and three brothers: Eugene Johnson, James C. Johnson and Billy Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Donell Youngblood; two brothers, Walter Johnson Jr., of Inverness, Miss., and Jimmy Johnson (Joyce), of Vicksburg; and a sister, Mary Catherine Lett, of Hartford, Ala.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at Riles Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Edward Campbell, Wade Hammack, Thomas Holmes, Kevin Sharp, James Sharp and James Sullivan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Brown.
