The Mississippi State University football team received a commitment from Malik Nabers who is a standout wide receiver going into his senior year of high school in Louisiana.

Nabers made the announcement Tuesday on Twitter.

He later told 247 Sports that the MSU coaching staff is a big reason for joining the Bulldogs.

“The coaching staff, they’ve been with me through the first coaching staff and now the second,” Nabers said. “The loyalty, they’ve been standing by me though the recruiting process, they kept it 100.”

Nabers is a four-star athlete out of Comeaux High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he finished his junior season with 58 catches, 1,228 yards, and 21 touchdowns. He will join the Bulldogs in 2021 after he finishes his senior year along with the rest of the MSU 2021 commits.

“I heard they have a good quarterback coming in,” Nabers said. “Mike Leach likes to throw the ball and Teddy Knox is one of my friends. We were talking about it, and we think we can be a dual-threat like Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson were at LSU. We can bring that to State.”

Nabers in one of 12 committed players in the class of 2021 who will join the Bulldogs a year from now. Those players are giving a good look into the future of the MSU program.
