Former WC powerlifter Jalen Davenport lifted a total of 1,735 pounds at a National Powerlifting meet on Sunday

Former Warren Central High School powerlifter Jalen Davenport lifted a total of 1,735 pounds for Blue Mountain College on Sunday at the Collegiate Powerlifting Nationals.

Davenport came in 5th place in his weight class where he bench pressed 424 pounds, squatted 722, and deadlifted 589. He helped the BMC men’s team get to third place, and the women’s team came in fourth place.

Davenport lifts in the 231 pound weight class and has earned first place at multiple meets this year. He is a 2020 graduate of Warren Central, where he also played on the football team.
