Former VHS player Jeff Scott Jr. playing for Alabama State University

Former Vicksburg High School star football player Jeff Scott Jr. is playing football at Alabama State University starting in February.
Scott made the transition to the ASU Hornets after playing defensive back for Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2018 and 2019.
At Vicksburg High, Scott starred at wide receiver as a junior in 2016, finishing with 715 receiving yards, 225 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns and eight receiving touchdowns. He also helped the Gators finish with a 9-4 record that year.
In 2017, Scott transferred to Melbourne Catholic High School in Florida to play under head coach Stacy Sizemore. He finished his senior high school season with 452 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns and two interceptions on defense. The team ended the season with a 8-4 record.
Scott will be competing for playing time with the Hornets. Their season is scheduled to begin in February against Southern University. He will continue to play defensive back this season which is the position where he found most of his college success.
