ERDC on alert after employee shot in head

A shooting at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) left a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Around 11:30 a.m., a call to the 911 center stated there was a gunshot victim at ERDC. Numerous emergency crews responded and found the victim, a security guard at the main gate, had been shot in the head.

Bazinski, Wisconsin, Halls Ferry Road, Porter’s Chapel areas around ERDC were subsequently blocked off as the campus went into lockdown.

AirCare was called in to transport the victim, but due to weather was unable to fly. Fire Medic 80 transported the victim for treatment.
