Culkin Water District has issued updates for their customers extending the boil water notice for some customers, and issuing a notice for those whose service has been recently restored.

Just after 3 p.m. Monday, the utility posted the following update on their Facebook page:

CULKIN WATER DISTRICT IS EXTENDING THE BOIL WATER NOTICE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS WHO GET THEIR DRINKING WATER FROM 1324-2501 CULKIN RD, AMBERLEAF DR , HWY 80, COCKRELL RD, DEER RIDGE RD, CARRAWAY DR, BUCKS DR, DOVE RD, OLD MT ALBAN RD, MT ALBAN RD, PEAR ORCHARD, ANDERSON RD, RANCHO RD, SMALLWOOD ST, WHIPPERWILL DR, ELTON DR, COOPER DR, IRONWOOD DR, ASHWOOD DR, BRADDY DR, SHORT JACK DR, SAVAGE RD, MINGOS RD, OR BOND RD LOCATED IN WARREN COUNTY.

A few minutes later, another update was posted for additional customers:

CULKIN WATER DISTRICT IS ISSUING THE BOIL WATER NOTICE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS WHO GET THEIR DRINKING WATER FROM FAIRWAYS DR, ROBERT E. LEE, BOYSCOUT, DUNAGAN, SILVER CREEK, DUNCAN, SAMMY YOUNG, REBEL CIRCLE, VINSON RD, WARRIORSL TRAIL, TIFFINTOWN, OAK TREE DR, BERRYMAN, DUSTY RD, GREYLINE DR, COLUMBUS, OR REDHAWK LOCATED IN WARREN COUNTY.

Culkin Water District stated that the boil notice is a precautionary action resulting from the lost pressure in the system following a break in the water line.  When a water distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water supply.
Customers in affected areas should boil water vigorously for at least two minutes before drinking or using it while cooking.  The notice will remain in effect until a testing ensures that the water in the system is safe to consume.
