Corps reopens roads at Arkabutla Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District has reopened the upper and lower dam roads on Arkabutla Dam at Arkabutla Lake, located in Tate and DeSoto counties in north Mississippi, after successful equipment installation and precautionary repairs.

The road above the dam was recently closed for the installation of new piezometers, which measure groundwater elevations, water pressures and other key metrics. The road along the dam’s base was recently closed due to the discovery of a non-threatening sinkhole. Traffic flow will return to normal.

Endangered/Missing Child Alert issued for Pascagoula boys

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued an Endangered/Missing Child Alert for brothers Kaiden and Kolden Wall of Pascagoula, Mississippi, in Jackson County.

Kaiden Wall is a white male, 6 years old, 3-feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

His brother Kolden Wall is a white male, 2 years old, 2-feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 40 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Kaiden Wall and Kolden Wall may be accompanied by their non-custodial mother, Sarah Caswell.

Caswell is a white female, 33 years old, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair.

The vehicle being used is a 2007 silver Audi A4 2.0 bearing Alabama license plate 2BA2195.

Vehicle fire in Warren County Saturday morning – VIDEO

A Warren County man lost his Dodge Challenger to a fire Saturday that was believed to have been electrical and related to the car’s radio.

Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, Warren County firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire reportedly threatening a structure on Clubhouse Circle off of Newitt Vick Drive.

Culkin Engine 204 responded along with Engine 209 for water support.

Firefighters from Culkin and Bovina quickly extinguished the fire in the Challeger and there was no damage to the adjacent apartment building.

The Dodge Challenger was a total loss. Wards Wrecker Service removed it from the scene.

One person injured in early morning crash in Warren County

One Warren County driver has been sent to the hospital after crashing into a tree Saturday morning.

Just before 5 a.m. Saturday, OnStar notified Vicksburg-Warren 911 about a crash on Freetown Road near Amos Road. It was later determined that the crash was approximately 3 miles northeast of that intersection on Freetown Road.

The driver lost control of his Chevrolet Malibu, striking a tree. The impact caused a full air bag deployment.

Vicksburg Fire Department, Rescue, Fire Medic 30 and Culkin Engine 209 responded to the scene.

The driver was transported to Merit Health River Region for examination while the passenger was examined at the scene and released.

The crash was investigated by Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas McBride (WC-49).
