Two Claiborne County men have been arrested and charged with insurance fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy by the public integrity division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
The charges were the result of indictments sought by the attorney general’s office, said Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Goods.
Derrick Gaines and Johnny Lakerias Thomas were booked into the Claiborne County Jail, according to a social media post on the Claiborne County Sheriff Department Facebook page.
The suspects were released on $10,000 bonds Wednesday set by Circuit Judge Tameka H. Irving. They also have to appear in Judge Irving’s court in Jefferson County Monday.
T.J. Werre, a spokesperson for the attorney general’s office, declined comment citing an ongoing investigation.
