Billy Louis Fought passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at the age of 90.
Billy was born in Ferriday, Louisiana, Nov. 18, 1930, the son of the late Blutcher Louis Fought and Katie Mae McVay Fought. He moved to Vicksburg in 1948. He was employed at Westinghouse as a tool and die maker for 16 years. Billy was known as a “mechanical genius” and could fix absolutely anything. He was self-employed for the next 48 years. He married Elza Laverne Champion Fought in 1950 and they were married for 68 years at the time of her death in 2019.
Billy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.
He is survived by his son, Glynn Louis Fought; daughters Wanda Kay Murphy and Janet Elaine Wilson; brothers Robert J. Fought and Bruce Fought; sister, Josephine Malley; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020. The service will be officiated by his grandson Quinten Williams.
