Numerous people have received postcards telling them that their right to vote may have been compromised.

The post cards claim to be connected to the NAACP; however, local chapter President Bobbie Morrow, who is also District 2 election commissioner, said the cards did not come from either the local or state NAACP chapter.

Warren County Circuit Clerk Jan Daigre said several other counties have reported receiving the mysterious cards. Some are addressed to deceased individuals and even children. On one card received Tuesday, a Connecticut postmark can be seen. The cards contain hand-written messages, and most are signed by someone named Carole.

Daigre went on to say if you have concerns about your voting eligibility, please contact her office at 601-636-3961 or visit the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website.

She also wants to remind voters who have moved, changed their name or haven’t yet registered to vote that now is the time to change your registration or register before the November elections.
