Alice Hazel Cooper Sorrels passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the age of 80.
Alice was born in Webster County, Mississippi, on April 20, 1940, the daughter of John Thomas and Lucille Whitt Cooper. She was a member of Beechwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Earl Sorrels; daughter Penny Sorrels and son-in-law Randy; siblings Margie Jackson, Sparkman Cooper, Winton Cooper, Inez Herman, J. T. “Jiggs” Cooper, Joe Lee Cooper and Oliver Cooper; and brother-in-law Billy Hill.
She is survived by her daughters Diane Easom (Bobby) and Shandra Anderson (Wayne); step-son Darrell Sorrels (Barbara); brothers Isaac Cooper (Brenda), Sam Cooper (Dianne) and John Earl Cooper; sisters Louise Hill and Rosa Mae Vanlandingham (L.B.); sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Cooper; grandchildren, Troy Anderson, April Anderson, Morgan Loyd (Amanda), Travis Sorrels (Kayla), Cody Norwood (Ben), Michael Wayne Sorrels (Whitney) and Sonya Jones (Cory); and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, July 31, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg officiated by Michael Jabour. Audrey Hood will sing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow the service in Sarepta Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Troy Anderson, Morgan Loyd, Michael Wayne Sorrels, Travis Sorrels, Michael Vaughn and David Vaughn.
Timothy Wayne Randall, 1954 – 2020
Timothy Wayne Randall passed away Oct. 12, 2020, at the age of 66.
Timothy was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church. He attended H. V. Cooper High School. He lived in Vicksburg most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wayne Randall and Ruby Lucille Randall.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Rene Randall Campbell; son, Nathan Wayne Randall; sister, Elaine Randall English (Bill); grandsons Austin and Landon Kraemer; nephew, Cris Bessette; and niece, Evie Bessette.
A visitation will be Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating.
Marion G. ‘Buster’ Cupp, 1926 – 2020
Marion G. “Buster” Cupp passed away Oct. 13, 2020. He was 93.
Buster was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on Oct. 25, 1926, the son of John F. and Bertha Ashley Cupp; he was one of 14 children. He had lived in Vicksburg since 1942. He worked for Davis Grill from 1943 to 1944 and again from 1947 to 1953; then for A&P from 1953 until 1988. He served in WWII in the South Pacific, 7th Division, 17th Regiment, Company K. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2572 and lifetime member of American Legion Post 3.
He is predeceased in death by his parents and all his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary L. “Tippy” Cupp; daughters Janie Ruth Hollowell (Thomas) and Mary Ann Lockhart; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19, the family is holding a private service.
Dannie Ezell Emrick, 1948 – 2020
Dannie Ezell Emrick went home to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at 7:19 p.m. surrounded by all of his loved ones. For all that knew him knew he absolutely loved fishing and his kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandchild, in addition to all of the bonuses that came along with them.
Mr. Emrick was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Ezell Emrick and Virginia Mildred Dobbs, and two sisters, Kitty Fay Hunt and Teresa Nowell. He is survived by two sons, Danny Emrick Jr. and Trinity Emrick (Nikki); five daughters, Lisa Kapp (Robert), Christie Emrick, Lee Moulder (Jason), Mistie Davis and Destiny Emrick (Kurt); two sisters Shirley May and Debbie McDaniel; 20 grandchildren, April Johnston (David), Robert Kapp Jr., Stacia Guider (Peyton), Caleb Baker (Chanci), Lexi Baker, Shane Emrick (Laurin), Dillion Nevels, Ethan Moulder, Abigayle Davis, Emma and Lyndon Davis, Raina and Jordan Emrick, Angel Hunt, Hayden Hinson, Connor Emrick and Jordan, Lilly, Skyla and TJ Shamblin; 10 great grandchildren, Corbin Hart (Jacie Redditt), Taylor Palmer, Conley Johnston, Lanie Johnston, Shane Michael Emrick Jr., Brayden Kapp, Kenzie Brewer, Colby Baker, Ayden Thomas and Greyson Guider; and one great-great-grandchild, Laken Hart.
Services will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home with visitation from 10 a.m. until noon and service to follow. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Beautiful Deliverance Ministry.
